Driving back from Dubai last night in my 2016 Ghibli and suddenly the air went from cold to warm, like someone flipped a switch. Still blows but it's just outside temperature air, no cooling at all. I'm hoping it's something simple like a fuse or a pressure switch because I really don't want to deal with a full compressor failure right now. Been searching online and saw that some Maseratis have issues with the AC relay overheating or the expansion valve getting stuck. Does anyone know a place that actually specializes in Maserati Air Conditioning Repair Sharjah? I'm trying to avoid the dealership because their diagnostic fee alone is crazy, but I also don't trust a random garage with the electronics on this car. If you've had this happen, what was the culprit and how much did it set you back? Appreciate any help before I start calling around blindly.

Sudden complete loss of cooling rather than gradual warmup on a Ghibli highway run usually points toward a refrigerant pressure switch cutting the compressor out rather than a mechanical failure. That protective cutoff happens instantly when pressure drops below threshold, exactly like flipping a switch.

AC relay overheating on these Maseratis is a known fault and worth checking before assuming compressor failure. A relay that fails under sustained heat load during a highway run recovers when the car cools down, which is why the fault often seems intermittent.

Expansion valve getting stuck closed is another common cause of sudden total cooling loss on the Ghibli. It is a straightforward replacement once properly diagnosed and significantly cheaper than a compressor if that turns out to be the fault.

Maserati AC electronics are sensitive enough that a random garage without proper diagnostic software will waste your time and money. Finding someone with experience specifically on these ZF climate systems before handing over the car is worth the extra research.

Dealer diagnostic fee versus independent specialist pricing on a Ghibli AC fault is a significant enough difference to justify calling a few Sharjah specialists first. As long as they have proper refrigerant handling equipment and Italian car diagnostic experience the quality of diagnosis should be comparable.
