Some problems that are common with Lucky Bamboo are yellowing leaves, root rot as well as algae growth. Leaves that turn yellow may be a consequence of excessive sunlight or of bad water quality: change to filtered water and relocate the plant to indirect light. Root rot may develop in case the waters are not changed frequently, and thus, wash the container and change water regularly. The algae would be managed by ensuring that the plant is not exposed to the direct sunlight. The plant can often recuperate fast with a few minor modifications and proceed to flourish.
