Migrating from an on-premises environment or another email service to Office 365 can be a complex process. Here is a general outline of the steps involved in manually migrating to Office 365:

Plan the Migration:

Assess your current environment: Understand the scope of the migration, including the number of users, mailboxes, and data to be migrated.
Determine the migration strategy: Decide whether you'll perform a cutover migration, staged migration, hybrid migration, or use a third-party migration tool.
Set up your Office 365 environment: Create user accounts, set up licenses, configure domains, and ensure the necessary permissions and security settings are in place.
Prepare the Source Environment:

Verify system requirements: Check if your source environment meets the prerequisites for migration to Office 365.
Set up directory synchronization (if required): Configure Azure Active Directory Connect (AAD Connect) or another synchronization tool to synchronize user accounts and attributes between the on-premises Active Directory and Office 365.
Configure DNS and Domain:

Update DNS records: Modify the DNS records to point to Office 365 services for mail routing and other services.
Verify domain ownership: Prove domain ownership to Office 365 by adding TXT or MX records as per the instructions provided during the setup.
Create Mailboxes and Users in Office 365:

Create user accounts in Office 365: Set up user accounts for each user who will be migrated to Office 365.
Assign licenses: Assign appropriate Office 365 licenses to the user accounts.
Migrate Mailboxes:

Cutover migration: For small to medium-sized organizations, you can use the Exchange Admin Center (EAC) or Exchange Online PowerShell to perform a cutover migration where all mailboxes are migrated in a single batch.
Staged migration: For larger organizations, you can use the EAC or Exchange Online PowerShell to perform a staged migration where mailboxes are migrated in batches.
Hybrid migration: If you plan to maintain a hybrid environment with both on-premises Exchange and Office 365, you can use the Hybrid Configuration Wizard to configure a hybrid environment and gradually move mailboxes.
Migrate other data and services:

Public folders: Migrate public folders from the source environment to Office 365 using the appropriate migration method.
SharePoint sites and data: Plan and execute the migration of SharePoint sites and data to Office 365.
Skype for Business/Lync: Migrate user accounts and configure Skype for Business/Lync settings in Office 365.
Test and Verify:

Perform thorough testing: Test mailbox access, sending/receiving emails, calendar synchronization, and other functionality to ensure everything is working correctly in the Office 365 environment.
Verify data integrity: Validate that all data has been successfully migrated and is accessible in Office 365.
Update Client Configurations:

Update Outlook profiles: Configure Outlook to connect to the Office 365 mailboxes.
Reconfigure mobile devices: Update the email settings on mobile devices to connect to Office 365.
Decommission the Source Environment:

Once you have successfully migrated all data and verified its integrity in Office 365, decommission the on-premises environment following the appropriate procedures.

Hope This Works,
Peter
