Ginger
Ginger is an indian spice that is often used in cooking. Apart from flavouring the recipe, it is also considered as one of the best herbal remedy to treat health related problems. Ginger may help to reduce cough that cause irritation and soothes sore throat that occurs due to cold. It also maintain a healthy respiratory system and provides you number of health benefits. The herb also contributes to remove mucus from your lungs that may cause coughing problem. You can prepare a cup of ginger tea by adding half teaspoon of ginger powder in one cup of boiled water, add some honey and lemon for better taste. Take this tea 2-3 times a day to avoid coughing problem. It is also beneficial to maintain overall health.

Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus is another great herbal remedy to cure cough problem. Due to its medicinal effects, it is often used for treating various health problems. The herb is also called Eucalyptus globulus. It also helps to eliminate phlegm and alleviates congestion problem. You can also rub eucalyptus oil over your chest to relieve congestion caused by common cold. To get rid from cough, take steam by inhaling this herb that helps you to prevent the stuffed nose. This herb is used in various cough syrup or lozenges throughout the world. Consult your doctor to confirm about the dosage of eucalyptus herb.

Peppermint
Peppermint contain various medicinal properties that help us to treat different health conditions including cough. The peppermint herb contains menthol that works to thin the muscus and reduce dry cough or sore throat. Moreover, it also consists antiviral or antibacterial properties that plays a vital role to prevent coughing problem. You can take peppermint oil and rub over your chest to get rid from congestion. To cure acute coughing problem, add few drops of peppermint oil in hot boiling water and inhale the vapours of it. Try this 2-3 times on a regular basis.
